Goodbye Nanchang, Hello Guangzhou!

Friday, November 7

Today was very much a stay-at-home day. It's rainy, it's gotten colder, it's windy. We went out twice this morning just for a walk to the grocery and to see another part of this neighborhood, but decided it was no fun for a baby. We played indoors and did just fine. Shane did all the paperwork this afternoon for our official appointments in Guangzhou. We also now have Lia's Chinese passport that has only her Chinese name, Zhuang Lu Yong.

There was a birthday party this afternoon for several of the babies and an older brother. Lia loved the cake and and whipped cream icing.

We're packing for the morning, Lia's crying. She goes to sleep for about an hour, then wakes up screaming and crying bloody murder. Tonight's solution: a smashed up banana.

Another trip to our favorite grocery store - to buy formula and baby wipes. Good thing I know how to say 10 in Chinese (sounds like shir) and make the sign for it--crossing your two index fingers. That way, we got a little help from the eight women clerks standing in the aisle watching us.

Enough for now--more from Guangzhou.

Jane and Shane--
Lia is beautiful. Just saw your blog--what a great way to remember your journey with Lia. Love the pictures when she flashes her sweet smile. Looking forward to seeing you and Lia and Thanksgiving.
